So, we finally did it.
The new intro to Cut to the Chase: Podcast is done... and I mean, I'm pretty happy with how it came out. Click below...
What do you think?
A few of you actually weighed in on the merch idea we floated, and honestly, the response was encouraging enough that we're moving forward with it.
Some of the merch is going to come directly from the new imagery. I'll just say... use your imagination on that one.
Thanks for actually caring about this stuff as much as I do. Or at least pretending to. Either way, I appreciate it.
This month on the podcast, we went deep on something that affects just about everyone — marriage, divorce, and everything in between.
I sat down with family attorney Brett Feinstein for 3 episodes that, honestly, I think are some of the most practical conversations we've had on this show.
Whether you're planning a wedding, questioning your marriage, or just got served papers this morning... there's something in here for you. We covered prenups, the emotional and financial reality of divorce, and what to actually do the moment things get legal. You know, the stuff nobody really talks about until it's too late.

Tariff Refunds: You May Be Owed Money

If you paid tariffs that were later found to be unlawful, can you actually get that money back?
The short answer is... it looks like yes. Eventually.
The Wall Street Journal reported that 96% of the tariffs were paid by American businesses and consumers. The consumers (us) paid 50-70% of that amount. Most businesses that had to pay the tariffs know or can find out how much they spent on the tariffs. Us consumers don’t have that information.
So how do we get our refund?
The Supreme Court invalidated a significant chunk of the tariffs at issue, and a trade court has ordered U.S. Customs to begin processing refunds, including interest. The government is apparently working on an automated refund system, with some estimates putting turnaround at around 45 days once it is up and running.
Other estimates are less optimistic. You know how these things go.
Here is what makes this complicated though: The process is still taking shape. And the biggest practical questions: who qualifies, what documentation is required, whether you need to file a formal claim or just wait for a portal to open—those answers are not all there yet.
So what should you do right now?
Do not wait. Start pulling your records together. Invoices, entry summaries, broker records, tariff classifications. If you paid these tariffs and you have the paperwork to prove it, you want to be ready when the window opens. Missing a deadline because you were not organized is not a situation you want to be in.
If this applies to you or your business... then do I have a podcast for you.
Next month we will release a podcast with Steve Smith talking about how businesses can get their refunds!!
